How do I downsize my images ?
If your images are too large, they will take too long to load if your potential customers are using a 56 K modem (or worse). For this reason, we recommend that image sizes be less than 100 Kb (kilobytes) in size.
If your image is larger than 100 Kb then it will not be uploaded to the site, there are several methods for reducing image size without sacrificing quality.- Change the image from a Bitmap (.bmp) to a JPEG (.jpg). The JPEG image format is 10-20 times smaller than the Bitmap format.
- Reduce the physical size of the image. An image that is half as wide and half as high as the original will be one quarter of the size of the original. Use image software to resize your images, try running a Google for image resizers there are lots of free aplications available.
